Abigail Beake is a much-loved macramé teacher among her students, known for her innate ability to bring fascinating creations to life by simply using cords and knots. However, like any artist, Abigail went through her own learning journey. Fortunately, she was in very good hands as her grandmother, Henrietta, spent entire afternoons with her, passionately teaching her all her macramé secrets. Determined to be the best, Abigail embarked on an in-depth study at a prestigious art academy, where she was able to develop her techniques and take her understanding of macramé to a more advanced level. This journey of discovery led Abigail to experience the beauty of macramé at a deeper level. She learned the importance of quality materials and developed an appreciation for the variety of projects that the art of macramé can offer. Strongly motivated by a desire to share these discoveries, Abigail decided to put her knowledge on paper, creating books that could help other enthusiasts like herself learn the art of macramé in a fun and easy way. Today, Abigail lives in Seattle with her husband, two children, and a frisky cocker spaniel named Tessa. She dedicates herself to the art of macramé, creating, teaching and sharing her passion with anyone who is interested. Her mission is clear: she wants to spread the joy of macramé, making this art accessible to anyone with a desire to create with their own hands, turning cords and knots into unique works of art.
