关于作者

I have taught students of all ages. I was one of the founding staff, and coordinator of Subway Academy One, an academic alternative secondary school of the Toronto District School Board. With my colleague, Murray Shukyn, I developed the proposal for, and co-founded, S.O.L.E., another independent study-based academic alternative secondary school for the Toronto Board of Education. I also co-wrote the proposal for a special program for excluded violent students. I have developed curriculum for a number of courses, ranging from Peer Tutoring to Philosophy. For many years, I was an Associate of the Faculty of Education of the University of Toronto, providing practical experience to student teachers in an alternative school setting. Along the way, I also taught outdoor education and ran training seminars for teachers. I currently run an academic upgrading program for students wishing to enter into an apprenticeship. As a freelance writer, together with a partner, Murray Shukyn, I have produced general interest and consumer information articles, movie review columns, columns for children and parents, and a multitude of Newspapers in Education learning kits. Our writing includes two textbooks, “Mathematics for Work and Everyday Life”, for Treehouse Press, and “Back in the USSR” for Reidmore Press. My colleague and I also wrote teachers guides for “Back in the USSR” and for a high school history text, “Global Forces of the 20th Century. Currently, we are working on several ebooks, both fiction and non-fiction. Stay tuned for more information.
