Adam W. Chase hails from Boulder, CO, where he lived from infancy until he was 16, when his family moved to Vermont. Although he played collegiate soccer, rugby, and was on the wrestling team at Haverford College, Adam ran for the cross country team his senior year and got into marathons. During law school at the University of Colorado, where Adam was an editor for the Colorado Journal of International Environmental Law & Policy, he ran many marathons and competed in triathlons, including a couple Ironmans. After law school, Adam got into ultramarathons and even kept up his interest while he pursued his LLM in Taxation at the NYU School of Law. Adam is now of counsel at the law firm Hutchinson, Black and Cook in Boulder, where he specializes in tax law. He also serves as President of the All American Trail Running Association and co-authored the Ultimate Guide to Trail Running. He is captain, manager and "Brand Ambassador" for Team Salomon and Team Atlas and also serves as the Brand Ambassador for Running Times magazine. Adam competes and, more so of late, “participates” in ultramarathons, adventure, snowshoe and multisport races throughout the United States and many other countries. He is the father to Noah and David and has absurdly large running shoe collection.
