Al Lindsay

Al Lindsay is a partner at Techquity and a veteran technology leader and engineer with over 30 years of experience building technology products and leading teams that built and scaled complex systems. Al spent 15 years at Amazon in leadership roles, including building and leading the Alexa science and engineering teams through developing and commercializing the world’s first hyperscale hands-free ambient computing product. Starting from scratch he scaled the Alexa technology organization into a global operation across seven countries. At Alexa, Al and his team overcame novel challenges in artificial intelligence (AI), natural language processing, distributed systems, and scaling, ultimately supporting hundreds of millions of Alexa devices and apps. In addition to his work on Alexa, Al led the scale-out of the Amazon Prime technology organization as the product grew to 10 million subscribers. Throughout his career, Al has focused on building and leading high-performing teams, solving difficult technical problems and delivering innovative products. Outside of work, Al lives in the Pacific Northwest with his family and enjoys playing hockey, wakesurfing, and woodworking. He remains involved in the technology community through Techquity as well as through education, boards, and consulting.
