Born and raised in Kennebunk, Maine, Alaina has spent much of her life immersed in the coastal charm of her hometown, where she also owns a thriving dog salon. Her debut memoir, "The Web of Whispers: A Memoir of Unmasking Munchausen by Proxy," is a deeply personal account that shines a light on the hidden and insidious nature of Munchausen by Proxy abuse. Through her powerful storytelling, Alaina shares the harrowing true story of her family's ordeal, revealing the dark complexities of deceit, manipulation, and systemic failure. Inspired by her own experiences and the hope of reaching those affected by similar abuse, Alaina's writing is a call to action for change and a beacon of hope for victims and survivors. In addition to her advocacy and writing, Alaina is a talented musician who plays guitar and drums. She is also a singer-songwriter, finding solace and expression through her music in her spare time. When she's not writing, making pups feel beautiful in the salon, or creating music, Alaina enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the natural beauty of Maine with her pony, Stella.
