"Understanding History is a key to understanding the present and extrapolating the future" - Alan Sewell. I’ve pursued careers in technology, science, economics, history, and international business, striving to bring clarity to these subjects, by viewing their present states of development in context with their historical origins. Although every day is a new day, the new days are layered on top of repeating cycles of history as old as Mankind. Regarding American history, I've been commended for "interpreting the American experience" into six critical watershed periods when political and economic crises were resolved in order to advance the country into the next era of its history: FRAGMENTATION - FEDERALISM - UNION (1783 - 1815) SECESSION - WAR - NATIONALISM (1861 - 1868) WEALTH - DEPRESSION - EXPANSION (1890-1900) WEALTH - DEPRESSION - LIBERALISM (1925-1933) CHAOS - HUMILIATION - CONSERVATISM (1968-1981) INSTABILITY --- RECESSION ---- {Populism or Progressivism} (2008-?) I’ve also been commended on writing reviews of books on science and the history of science. I began with the study of science and engineering at Georgia Tech, while writing articles for popular national history magazines, then pursued a career developing algorithms to manage the business of multinational corporations. I have returned to my specialization of presenting history, science, and economics to popular audiences as easily comprehended books and articles, without omitting the core tenets and controversies of the subjects. I am a popular commenter in the Wall Street Journal on-line edition on topics of business, economics, history, and science.
