For as long as I can remember I have had a compulsion in me to create things. This compulsion has followed me throughout my life since early childhood all the way into the here and now. It’s been a constant need. I feel that at any given downtime I have that I should be doing or building something. It’s enough to drive me a bit crazy. Throughout my years I have dealt with this need in varying ways. When I was younger I fulfilled it through art. I would spend hours crouched over a table working on an amazing piece of art. (Amazing to me.) When I was satisfied with what I had created I would proudly present it to my parents or grandparents. They would congratulate me with the standard oohs and ahs that all children got when they showed a loved one their art. (I still have a stack of my old art projects and drawings in a crate tucked away in my master closet.) Now that I am older and had my thirtieth birthday last year I have found more and more that the thing I like to do most is writing. I run a few blogs on the side and most recently began writing short stories. These stories are not meant to be a job for me but instead to be fun. I hope you enjoy them! Thanks for reading, Alec John Johnson
