After having spent many years of soul-searching, introspection, deep thought and after my life became calm, I made the decision to write this book. It is part one of my story, my autobiography. However, my purpose to write down my personal story and expose myself to the public internationally was not out of intolerance to other religions, revenge or pettiness towards the people who marked my life forever. The book addresses the very serious ongoing problem of the status of Women in Islam and the abuse and oppression of Women worldwide. My story is a public protest against an inhuman system that has oppressed Women for centuries and continues up until this day. To shine a light on a system where the 'Man' has complete domination over the 'Woman', a system where the Woman is a pejorative item without value and is viewed as just a machine reproducing phallocratic species of men or subjugated women. The story is told through my eyes and what I experienced as a young Greek woman that fell in love with a man from another world and how this experience changed my life forever. For many Women (and Men) in the West this discrimination is difficult to understand, as in today's modern Western society Women enjoy freedom and equality. These 'rights' were not always enjoyed by Women of the West, but are the result of the strife and courage of Women before us that fought for our equality and risked their lives to gain Women's rights, freedom, equality and quality of life. Women in the West now take for granted simple everyday things like driving a car, voting, speaking personal opinions, dressing as we like and even going to the mall. The Woman in our enlightened Western culture 'has the right' to do what she wishes and dreams to do. None of these 'rights' are afforded to the Women in Islam, and there are no exceptions, even for the Western Woman. I discovered and experienced this first-hand. Unlike many other books and writings on this very serious subject of oppression and abuse suffered by Women in the Islam and throughout the world, I tell my story using my real name, actual photos and true accounts. My task and advocacy is to protect women, no matter her race, religion or the criticism. To help and add a voice to this subject in hopes of avoiding other innocent women from falling victim on the altar of love but trapped at the same time in a net of despair by a ferocious fisherman, singing the songs of love, who gets her in his net and later on... cooks her alive. My story is a signpost for Women that may fall in love with a man from this part of the world or think of working in this area.
