Hello, my beautiful people. Thank you for visiting my profile and being interested in my books. I want to start by telling you a little about myself: I was born in Mendoza, Argentina, and Texas is my home. My creative spirit has taken me to wonderful paths. I am a graphic designer and a rebel photographer who loves to break the rules. I am an Art Therapy practitioner and a Tai Chi and Qigong instructor. I started writing when I was little, winning first place in school writing competitions. I continued writing poems throughout my adolescence. Then life blessed me with a beautiful family, which is now my source of inspiration. In 2019, motivated by Lukas, my oldest grandson, I began writing and illustrating stories for children. He inspired me to create Conociendo a Bernardo, Aprendiendo Español for my grandchildren, who are learning Spanish as a second language. Today, it is a dream come true to share what I write with all the families who wish to preserve and transmit our beautiful language. As life always runs fast, at its own pace, suddenly, my daughters moved to another state, and I found myself without my grandchildren. That distance has been very difficult, touching my heart in an unthinkable way. In every conversation we have, my grandchildren ask about the house and the garden, the place where they were happy, Abu's House, as they call it. So I decided to write to them, telling them about the things that happened in the garden. I began to create stories about everything that happened there; that's how the Magical Garden Books was born. I have created stories like Tod the Toad, Adelina the Squirrel, Valente the Elf Boy, The Guardian of the Seven Kingdoms, The Lotus Flower, The Alphabet of Flowers, and, recently, The Legend of the Cicada Girl, stories that I will soon share with all of you. I believe that to find the magic we must contemplate with the soul's eyes and share with the heart's voice what nature tells us. Life is magic, and magic is life. I hope with all my heart that you enjoy these stories as much as my grandchildren do. And who am I anyway? I am just a happy grandmother who shares with you all those wonderful moments when the magic of my garden inspires me. - Alicia Kominek-
