Alicia Miranda is originally from Philippines, from the beautiful island of Luzon, where as a young girl was first introduced to the art of crochet. Crochet was a way of life for women in her family. They made a living crafting and crocheting beautiful handmade afghans, clothing and more. She moved to the US over 20 years ago and lives with her wonderful daughter. Ques: What was your inspiration for writing crochet patterns? Ans: I opened my etsy shop about two years ago. I filled it with handmade crochet goods. I wanted more variety of crochet products, so I began to look for crochet patterns. After my long research, I was so disappointed on many of the patterns I found. You basicaly needed a degree in crochet to understand them. Being a graphic and web design artist, I knew the best way to read crochet patterns and understand them was to incorporate lots of step by step photos. Because I know that it works for me. I'm a visual artist. Seeing is believing. The crochet patterns, I write, are a product of crocheting them multiple times, if not hundreds of times. And from that experience comes with ideas figuring out ways to make it simplier, faster, and better. So buy with confidence, that these crochet patterns are proven to work exactly as intended.
