关于作者

I’ve worked as a teacher, teacher-trainer and university lecturer, and turned to writing fiction after I’d taken early retirement. My first novel, The Peat Dead, was published by ThunderPoint Publishing in 2019. It’s a crime thriller, set mainly on the island of Islay, and is the first in a series featuring Inspector Angus Blue and forensic archaeologist Dr Alison Hendrickx. It was shortlisted for the McIlvanney Debut Prize at the Bloody Scotland crime festival 2019. The second in the Angus Blue series is The Dead of Jura, published in September 2020. Blue and his team investigate the shooting of a cabinet minister on the island of Jura, and, despite official obstruction, uncover some very nasty secrets. Death in Tallinn, published by Sharpe Books in 2020, is the first in a detective series set in 1930s Estonia, featuring Chief Inspector Juri Hallmets. I visit Estonia regularly and the background is meticulously researched. I also write short stories which are regularly published in iScot magazine.
