Alyssa Graybeal

Alyssa Graybeal is a writer and cartoonist whose work explores the emotional landscape of chronic illness and disability, which can be funnier than it sounds. Her memoir Floppy: Tales of a Genetic Freak of Nature at the End of the World (2023) won the Red Hen Press Nonfiction Award, and it is one of the first books about Ehlers-Danlos syndrome from a patient’s perspective. She has a BA from McGill University and an MLIS from Dalhousie University, and she works as an editor and writing coach. She lives in Astoria, Oregon.
