Amanda Rietzler

Amanda Rietzler is a full-time college student, writer, and self-proclaimed Overambitious Hobbyist who somehow convinced her husband to join her in raising two energetic boys (and an ever-growing collection of pets). A former police dispatcher, she’s handled emergencies with ease—but nothing prepared her for the chaos of parenthood, where the calls come at all hours and usually involve snacks. Born and raised in Northern California, Amanda has lived in various areas of the country before finally settling in Northwestern Colorado, where she wrangles her kids, two dogs (Red and Beans), a cat named Gidget, and an unreasonable number of fish. A jack of all hobbies and master of none, she’s dabbled in everything from painting and woodworking to gardening and worm farming—because why not? Writing has always been her happy place, and now she’s putting that creativity to work in her first chapter book, Bobby Brave and Bold: The Journey to Grandma’s. If she can resist picking up yet another hobby (no promises), there will be plenty more adventures to come!
