Amy Hite is a music teacher in Temecula, CA. She began taking piano lessons at age six and guitar lessons at age nine. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Masters Degree in Classical Guitar Performance from California State University, Fullerton, where she studied under David Grimes. She taught at Riverside City College as an Associate Professor of Music and has been performing and teaching music lessons since 2005. Amy has performed at hundreds of events as a soloist and with various chamber groups. She was a member of the Fullerton Guitar Orchestra from 2006-2010, during which they performed throughout California and on a three-week tour of Bulgaria, which culminated with a concert at the U.S. Embassy in Sofia. Amy served as the chair of the Guitar Syllabus Committee during the development of the Certificate of Merit ™ program with the Music Teachers’ Association of California. She is an award-winning author and has published arrangements and original compositions, recorded three albums, and has sold thousands of copies of her music books worldwide. Her Music Theory for Guitar workbook was the winner of the Winter 2024 Pencraft Book Award in the category of Music.
