Andy Wasif was raised in the suburbs of Boston and brought to his first Red Sox game in 1982. From that day forward (until 2004), he was a down-on-his-luck Red Sox fan. His desire to be a sports broadcaster brought him to Syracuse University where he roomed with and hung out with Yankees fans, absorbing far more verbal abuse than one man should. From his experience sprang three books including "Red Sox University" and the Boston Globe bestseller "Red Sox Fans are From Mars, Yankees Fans are From Uranus." After graduating, he spent several years touring the country as a stand-up comedian before moving to Los Angeles where he trained at famed Improv theaters Upright Citizens Brigade and Improv Olympic. During his time on the West Coast, he wrote humor commentaries and celebrity features for "Wasif's World," his blog on Yahoo! Sports, and written countless television and film scripts including "Adult Puberty," a web series parody of those 1960s educational videos on growing older. His latest screenplay "The 70-Year Itch" is currently in development. His other books include: "Hollywood Primer," a deeply observant and fun survival guide to life in Los Angeles and the entertainment industry; "Will Beg for Dignity," a collection of humorous personal essays; "Don't Talk Sports at the Dinner Table," a compilation of his most absurd, profound, and hilarious sports blog posts, and "Adult Puberty," a middle-aged version of those books designed to help adolescents understand what's happening to their bodies and companion piece to the web series.
