Professor Angus Macdonald is the author or co-author of 10 books in the fields of architectural structures, architectural history and cultural landscape. Angus Macdonald is currently Professor Emeritus of Architectural Structures, and a former Head of the Department of Architecture, in the University of Edinburgh. He has served as a Commissioner on the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (now part of Historic Environment Scotland) and as a member of the Board of Governors of Edinburgh College of Art. With Dr Patricia Macdonald FRSE, he is a partner in the consultancy Aerographica, which specialises in environmental research, record and interpretation, principally by means of aerial photography, and in environment-related publications and art projects; he holds a commercial pilot's licence with instrument and instructor ratings.
