Ann M. Israel was born in Detroit, Michigan, lived in California for many years, and then moved to New York City in 1989. All of her life she has been interested in learning about art and studying art history, which culminated in earning an undergraduate B.A. in Art History. A number of years ago, after being inspired by the museum exhibit, "Project Mah Jongg," Ann took Mah Jongg lessons with a group of friends. As she began playing the game on a regular basis she also started her study of the spectacular vintage Mah Jongg sets that existed; soon she purchased her first set. That is when her love affair began with the history of Mah Jongg and the beauty of the tiles and sets. Since purchasing that first set she has continued to collect vintage sets, each one adding to her appreciation of the art of the game. The book, "Mah Jongg: The Art of the Game" is currently available on Amazon.com at http://tinyurl.com/lvjk57v, other online bookstores, and at your local bookstore. Ann blogs daily about Mah Jongg at www.mahjonggandme.com. Professionally, Ann has been an attorney search consultant since 1979 and has been writing a weekly advice column for attorneys published by American Lawyer Media (ALM) for the past 20+ years. The column, "Advice for the Lawlorn" is now a series of books published by the American Bar Association (ABA) and known as "Advice for the Lawlorn - Career Do's and Don'ts From One of the Most Successful Legal Recruiters in the Industry." The first book in the series is available for purchase at http://tinyurl.com/k4kxfno
