Ann is sole author of the fifth and sixth editions (and coauthor of the first four editions) of the best selling textbook Understanding Operating Systems, which has been translated into 5 languages and adopted at colleges and universities on 6 continents, and won two awards of excellence from the Text and Academic Authors Association. Ann's teaching assignments have included undergraduate courses in operating systems and technology writing at Carlow University and MIS at Chatham University. She currently teaches at Duquesne University. As President of McHoes & Associates for more than 30 years, she has been a professional writer and consultant and has produced a wide variety of marketing and information communications. Her science advocacy work includes volunteering as a judge for the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Fair as well as the Pennsylvania Science Bowl.
