In her first book, Able to Be Otherwise, Anna Lenaker contributes a compassionate and hopeful perspective to ongoing conversations about poverty, addiction, and climate change, born from her personal experience. Anna shares reflections on her life’s most intimate moments, including witnessing her mom’s struggle with addiction, grieving over California’s most destructive wildfire and its impact on her community, and growing up poor before landing at Brown University. Anna has a Master of Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Brown University. She is an avid walker, reader, and coffee drinker. Anna loves traveling to new places and binge watching Jeopardy! A resident of Northern California, she gives thanks daily for the love and support of her communities.
