Anne W. Anderson, author of the recently released Insiders' Guide® to the Greater Tampa Bay Area, published by Globe Pequot Press, has explored the Tampa/St. Petersburg area of Florida for more than thirty years. In addition to being a freelance journalist, she writes children's stories, liturgical dramas, ad copy, poetry, and grocery lists. Reflecting a penchant for searching out the little-known and under-reported and for writing in multiple genres, Anne's work has appeared in such disparate publications as the St. Petersburg Times, Pockets magazine for children, Tampa Bay Newspapers, The Anniston (Ala.) Star, and the Eckerd Review. Her volunteer work as drama director at her church led to several of her vignettes being published by CSS Publishing Company. Anne teaches seminars and short courses about writing, children and media, and liturgical drama. She is a graduate of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg (B.F.A. Creative Writing), and of the University of Alabama (M.A. Community Journalism). She currently is enrolled in the Ph.D. program at the University of South Florida (Children's Literature).
