Anowar Zahid

Dr Anowar Zahid is a Professor of International Business and Islamic Law at the Faculty of Law, Eastern University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is the former Dean of the same faculty. He is also the Vice-President, Conferences and Publications Division, Nature Science Research and Innovation Centre (NSRiC), Canada. Dr Zahid received his PhD from the University of Manchester (England) preceded by an LLM from Dalhousie University (Canada), and LLM & LLB (Honours) degrees from the University of Dhaka. He also received a Certificate in International Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Institute of International Commercial Law, Pace University, New York. Earlier, Dr Zahid was an Associate Professor of Law at the National University of Malaysia (UKM), and also at the University of Dhaka. He was the Director of the Centre for International Law and Siyar (Islamic International Law) at UKM as well. He has extensively published in various acclaimed international journals like Transnational Dispute Management, European Business Law Review, Suffolk University Law Review, Arab Law Quarterly, Journal of East Asia and International Law, US-China Law Review, International Journal of Civil Society Law, International Journal of Business and Society, International and Comparative Corporate Law Journal, and Company Lawyer. He has co-authored a book titled Legislative Desk Book ( Dhaka: Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, October 2021). He is a co-editor of the book- Law, Regulation and Practice of Islamic Finance with Particular Reference to Malaysia (Bangi (Malaysia): UKM Publishers, 2021). Professor Zahid was the Editor of the Eastern University Journal. He is now serving as a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of the Centre for Research in Law and Development in Asia, and also Lampung Journal of International Law (LaJIL). With postgraduate thesis supervision experience, Professor Zahid has acted as a PhD examiner for Macquarie University, Wollongong University, National University of Malaysia , and Taylor's University of Malaysia. Professor Zahid is a recipient of an Honourable Mention Award from Shuvojon, a Socio-Cultural organization of Bangladesh, in recognition of his contribution to legal education.
