Dr Anthony Gunn is a psychologist specializing in treating fears and phobias. He became a psychologist to treat his own phobia of medical procedures. The phobia occurred due to an incident that happened as a teenager after Anthony underwent an emergency operation without anesthetic for a collapsed lung and was hospitalised for six weeks while on a student exchange program in Central America's Spanish-speaking country, Honduras - a life changing experience. Anthony claims that since treating his phobia, he can visit hospitals, under-go medical procedures, and no longer has the embarrassing experience of passing-out when having a needle. Anthony is an internationally published author of 9 books, previously worked as a police psychologist and now works with veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Anthony features regularly on television and radio, helping to take the mystery out of anxiety and increase happiness. He also gives talks to sporting and social clubs, schools and professional institutions about fear. Anthony lives in Australia with his wife, 2 children, his 3 pythons named Percy, Gus and Ernie, and his bird eating spider named Flossy.
