Antonio Sajid (Ponce, Puerto Rico, 1980) is a writer, theater worker, and professor of Hispanic studies in the United States. With a career spanning various disciplines, his work weaves a constant dialogue between the academic and the popular, the personal and the political— a central feature of his activism. His publications include La sombra púrpura del cielo roto, novel (Gnomo, San Juan, 2025); Metateatro hispanoamericano contemporáneo, literary theory/essay (Editorial Pliegos, Madrid, 2020); and Canciones de cuna para un hombre y una ciudad, poetry (Proyectos BiiK, Santo Domingo, 2009). He has contributed to the anthology Las mujeres sí hablan así (Editorial Boreales, 2017), a tribute to poet Nemir Matos-Cintrón organized by Yolanda Arroyo Pizarro, as well as to the anthology series Abrazos del Sur, a collection of Dominican and Puerto Rican literary works curated by Virginia Díaz, spanning five volumes. In the theater field, he has produced plays such as Dinosaurios by Santiago Serrano (Ponce, Puerto Rico, 2006); the project Cuéntame la historia a la sombra de la Ceiba, produced by La Bruja Fortuna, Inc. (2007-2008); and Cosecha de muerte by Edilberto Torres Santos, as part of the XX Festival de Teatro Luis Torres Nadal, where he also served as a board member. Additionally, he is the creator of the podcast El Intertexto, available on Spotify and other digital platforms.
