Ariane Chapelle

Hi! I’m Ariane. For many years, I have taught university students and corporate adults. When I was busy writing my last textbook on operational risk management, my son—then 8 years old—asked me to write a book for children instead. I promised him I would, and that promise marked the beginning of Tempest and Wallace's adventures, inspired by the personalities of my two youngest children. Born in Belgium and British by adoption, I write in both English and French. I have long been dedicated to the cause of children and education. That’s why all the proceeds from my debut novels, Tempest's Secret (English edition) and Tempête mène l'enquête (French edition), will be donated to the charity Children of Klang Leu, a daycare centre supporting vulnerable children and their families in Cambodia. In parallel with my fiction writing, I remain active in the field of risk management. I have worked in this field since 2000, where I am recognised as a speaker, writer, and advisor. I founded and ran the advisory and training firm Chapelle Consulting, which became BDO Chapelle in October 2022. Over the years, the firm has earned multiple industry accolades. My main textbook, Operational Risk Management: Best Practices in the Financial Services Industry, was published in the Wiley Finance Series in late 2018 and quickly became the field's #1 best seller.
