Born in 1942 to a family of Zionist pioneers during the British Mandate, Brigadier General (Ret.) Arie Mizrachi was the commanding officer of the IDF Artillery Corps during the 1982 Lebanon War. He retired after twenty-three years of service that included over four major Israeli military campaigns. Following his retirement, Mizrachi held several public positions, as General Director of the Housing and Construction Ministry as well as Chairman of Israeli Military Industries (IMI). Arie is married to Tamar and they have four children and fourteen grandchildren. He lives in Tel Aviv.
