Art Labrousse started his police career as a Reserve Officer in 1970, joining the City of The Dalles department full-time soon after. He worked his way through the ranks, reaching the position of Commander. With little advancement left in the city office, he ran for Sheriff of Wasco County during one of the most bizarre elections in the history of Oregon and arguably the United States. After 30 years of silence, he believes it is time to share the story of that first year.
