Aziz Talbani

Dr. Aziz Talbani is the author of numerous articles and book chapters on religion and education. He has taught at institutions of higher education in North America, Europe, and Asia. He received PhD (Educational Administration and Policy Studies) and MA (Islamic Studies) degrees from McGill University, MA (International and Comparative Education) from the University of London and MA (Arabic Language and Literature) from Karachi University. He taught in Educational Leadership and Teacher Education programs. His leanings toward philosophy and mysticism result in studies that integrate critical pedagogy methods in the field of religion and social justice in education. He is engaging public speaker, who challenges audience assumptions and enables them to awaken their intellectual potential. Through the decades, Aziz has mentored many students in diverse fields including Education and Religious Studies. He notes, “My most rewarding experiences come from working with communities in various parts of the world on social justice and equity issues, educational development, and women’s rights.” As a writer and artist, he expresses his ideas through fiction, poetry, and visual art.
