Barry Kātz

I'm Professor of Industrial and Interaction Design at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, Consulting Professor in the Design Group, Department of Mechanical Engineering, at Stanford, and long-time Fellow at IDEO, the Silicon Valley-based design and innovation consultancy. My most recent book is Make it New: The History of Silicon Valley Design (MIT Press), the first book to demonstrate (I hope) how design came to play a critical role in the formation of the Silicon Valley "ecosystem of innovation."
