Hi, I’m Becca! Inspired by my little one, I write stories based on everyday family life and use concise, child-friendly language to support young children’s communication and self-expression. As a single mum to a child with dual heritage it’s extremely important to me that all my books are inclusive and show a diverse range of children and families. I write from the child’s point of view and all my books are unisex, accessible and suitable for every family as you, the reader, assign the relationships between characters. My books align with the values of Maria Montessori, the educationalist who said “the greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence” and you will see this ethos running throughout my books, where even very young children are shown putting their things away, being respectful of others and overcoming challenges.
