Lifelong western fan David Whitehead owes his interest in the Old West to his father. "Growing up, he always took me to see all the western movies as they came out, we would sit together and watch western shows on TV, he would make up and tell me western stories and drawn pictures of cowboys and gunfighters for me to color in. No wonder the western got under my skin!" Under the name Ben Bridges, David published his first western, THE SILVER TRAIL, in 1986, and has been writing them - and publishing the westerns of other writers in his capacity as co-owner of Piccadilly Publishing - ever since. These days he can lay claim to a body of work that includes almost 90 books (mostly westerns but thrillers, horror, Sherlock Holmes and even romances as well), about thirty COMMANDO war stories and more than a hundred magazine articles. He explains: "My job is to tell the best story I can, in the best way that I can. The reader is my boss, and I want to keep the boss happy."
