Bernie Calaway is a native Texan where the family owned or rented a cotton farm on the high plains. Farming was not a favorite lifestyle so he managed to obtain a college degree (major in English and religion; minor in history) from Baylor University, the first of his generations to do so. After, it was on to seminary for a Master of Divinity degree. As soon as possible he joined the U.S. Navy as a chaplain and served 28 years, retiring in 1995 in the grade of Captain. Bernie has written or rewritten about thirty books, the most notable being the four volume encyclopedia entitled "History and Mystery: The Complete Eschatological Encyclopedia of Prophecy, Apocalypticism, Mythos, and Worldwide Dynamic Theology". Now he just sits around taking naps, drawing Western art, and watching the traffic pass to and fro on Covington Blvd.
