Beth Maloney grew up in New Jersey, graduated from Rutgers Law, moved to Los Angeles, and became an attorney and executive in the entertainment industry. Seeking a different life for her three sons, she moved to Maine where her middle son, Sammy, was misdiagnosed with mental illness. He had a strep infection. SAVING SAMMY is her memoir about those years and the battle it took to completely heal him. Their story jump-started major changes in pediatric mental health medicine and empowered parents worldwide. She followed it with CHILDHOOD INTERRUPTED, a handbook for the parents of children with Sammy's disorder, which quickly became "the bible" for parents seeking direction and answers. Disturbed by the number of parents facing medical kidnappings of their medically complex children, Ms. Maloney spent most of the Covid 19 pandemic writing PROTECTING YOUR CHILD FROM THE CHILD PROTECTION SYSTEM. It is based upon her involvement with hundreds of cases of alleged child abuse as an attorney for parents, a guardian ad litem, and a nationwide consultant. The book empowers parents facing baseless accusations with the information they need to navigate their way through the system. Ms. Maloney loves writing books that help parents by giving them information they will not find anywhere else. She often gets her best ideas while she is kayaking.
