Beth Black

关于作者

Beth Black has been published or produced in long and short fiction, journalism, creative nonfiction, magazine articles, technical writing, PR and commercial screenwriting. She is a Pushcart Prize nominee with several short stories published in the literary press. One of her screenplays won a Fade In Award in 2019. While earning a degree in English, Creative Writing Emphasis (with Literary Journalism studies) from UC, Irvine, she was awarded a grant to write a collection of speculative short stories on genetic engineering. After graduation, she spent six years on-staff at Toastmasters International World Headquarters as their Creative Writer. She also developed an extensive freelance portfolio. Additionally, she wrote the romance novel, Where You Go, I Go, where love rolls in on an e-bike. Currently, she is completing the first in a modern-day urban fantasy trilogy. In early 2024, Beth began to witness numerous teens riding around town recklessly ... and then aggressively. When one of these teens nearly mowed her down, it became clear that this problem required comprehensive solutions best provided by someone with her unique education and employment background. Later that year, the Bellemont Project launched. This social enterprise empowers communities to master e-bike safety by developing insightful education, effective enforcement, sophisticated use of behavioral psychology, and robust community engagement. As a UC Irvine-trained social ecologist who also holds a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, Beth has the professional qualifications to write The Caring Parent's E-Bike Survival Guide. Her insights are supported by the fact that she co-owned and operated a popular e-bike store that ran for six years with a strong safety record.
