Beth K. Belliveau

Welcome! I am Beth Belliveau, author of MY RUINED LIFE. I live in Connecticut with my husband, Phil, my cat, Critter, and my dog, Flynn. I have two sons, Matthew and Connor, and a daughter in law, Jessica. I am a middle school math teacher. I have been teaching for 30 years. I LOVE working with kids and helping them academically, as well as with day to day issues that arise in their lives. Kids have such a great insight into so many aspects of their lives, that I used this concept as a major base to my first book, MY RUINED LIFE. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my large family. We have so much fun when we are together. We even go on vacations together! I also have a great set of close friends, and have equally as much fun with them. And yes, we vacation together too! My passions, besides writing and working with kids, include hiking, biking, scrapbooking, golfing and baking. I became interested in writing after watching my father write a trilogy, that sadly, he never published. I also had a few teachers, especially in high school, that inspired me to write. While in high school, I told my friend, Christopher Ramos, that some day I wanted to write a book. He told me that if I ever did, that he would illustrate it for me. Even though it had been 35 years since we graduated high school together, when I sent him the draft of my book, he read it and agreed to design the cover for me. He kept his promise after all those years. Even though he lives in North Carolina, we have remained friends. That is because when you have a truly wonderful friend, you need to treasure their friendship and stay in contact with them. If you haven't read my book, I encourage you read it.
