Retired after 30 plus years as a middle and high school teacher, administrator, and professor of education, Betty J. Bennett is passionate about children of all ages. As an expert on bullying, she has sought to serve teachers, students, and parents alike in efforts to diminish the prevalence of bullying in our society. For those individuals who are or have been touched by bullying, she has provided education on surviving the overwhelming hardship and moving beyond. She has done this through her work in public and private schools, school districts, private institutions, and as a certified karate instructor. Included within her elementary school karate curriculum (grades k-5) are lessons on antibullying, character education, and gross motor skills. She has made multiple presentations nationally and internationally on classroom management and bullying and been interviewed by local media 17 times on the topic of bullying (radio, TV, print). As an animal lover and advocate, she is a Certified Canine Massage Therapist and teaches others canine massage for their dog’s and their own relaxation. Passion grows from deep awareness that touches hearts and calls to action. Dr. Bennett’s passion from personal experience with bullying is evident in her message.
