Bill Pelham was a professional golfer who worked as an assistant golf professional for Jackie Burke and Jimmy Demaret at the Champions Golf Club in Houston, Texas from 1971 - 1976. At the completion of his tenure, he left to play the PGA Tour. Though he never won, his five-year Tour career was punctuated by playing in five major championships - the U.S. Open, the PGA Championship, and The Open Championship. He has written columns for Morning Read, and composed numerous short stories for Chicken Soup for the Golfer's Soul, Chicken Soup for the Golfer's Soul II, and Chicken Soup for the Father's Day Soul. He currently resides in Houston, Texas, with his wife, Betsey.
