Reverend Billy Talen

Reverend Billy started preaching in Times Square in 1998. His early message was a rallying cry against consumerism and the Disneyfication of NYC. He very quickly became involved in the thriving anti-globalization movement and The Stop Shopping Choir emerged (clapping!) from street actions and rallies. After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita Reverend Billy turned directly to The Climate Crisis and Earth Justice. He has been arrested more than 50 times defending Earth Rights and Human Rights. He resides in Brooklyn with his family. Earthalujah!
