Bobbie Irwin has been teaching weaving for more than 30 years in 40 states and two Canadian provinces. Educated to be a geologist, she transferred her love of research to studying little-published textile topics such as iridescence in fabric, the subject of her newest book. Her earlier books on twined rag rugs were the first ever published about this disappearing folk craft, which she feels she was chosen to revive. Bobbie has considerable experience as a writer and editor for magazines, books, and newspapers. When she is not traveling to teach workshops, she enjoys weaving in her Montrose, Colorado, studio.
