Brandon Abshire

Brandon Abshire (b. 1980) was born in Kaplan, Louisiana to Carl and Carrie Abshire. He has one sister, Stacey Guidry. Brandon attended K-12 in Kaplan and graduated from Kaplan High School in 1998, before attending University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Brandon always showed an aptitude to technology and moved to San Diego, CA in 2000 to work at an Internet startup with his best friend and co-author, Chrissy LeMaire. At the age of 22, Brandon cofounded RealCajunRecipes.com as a way to preserve his family recipes and culture. Throughout the years, the website has continued to grow. In 2004, the original RealCajunRecipes.com cookbook was created and sold for many years in its classic form. In 2018, Brandon moved to Los Angeles, CA as lead DBA for Cedars-Sinai. In 2019, Brandon and Chrissy regrouped to create seasonal cookbooks based off of Cajun favorites, featuring their mascot, Alphonse.
