Breanne Brooks

Breanne is the author of Mia and the Magical Butterfly, her debut children's book, published in July 2024. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just 18 months old, Breanne has always had a passion for storytelling. Writing has been a lifelong dream, and through her work, she aims to bring meaningful representation to the diabetes community. Her goal is to create stories where characters with diabetes are seen, but not solely defined by their condition—just like in real life. Mia and the Magical Butterfly offers a story that resonates with readers both with and without diabetes, showing that magic, adventure, and self-discovery are experiences everyone can relate to. When she's not writing, Breanne enjoys spending quality time with her husband, family, friends and her dog, Luna.
