Brian C. Hall

I am a math professor at the University of Notre Dame with interests in mathematical physics and Lie group theory. I love to see the connections between mathematics and physics and in my books I have tried to bridge the (unfortunately large) cultural gap between the two communities. My book on Lie groups is designed to be accessible to both mathematicians and physicists. My book on quantum theory is aimed primarily at mathematicians who want to learn about this fascinating subject in physics, but I do hope it can also be useful to physicists who want to learn more about the mathematical foundations of the subject.
