Brian Gershuny

Brian has been growing and training bonsai for over 35 years. He owns Okami Gardens, a bonsai nursery, for the past 30 years. He helps other bonsai enthusiasts maintain collections. He designs and maintains private Japanese gardens, judges bonsai in flower shows and teaches bonsai techniques. Born and raised in the Bronx, where he worked in and learned horticulture at the Bronx Botanical Gardens, he now lives in southern New Jersey where he is currently an Emergency Department and Critical Care nurse, former paramedic and a Search and Rescue K-9 handler. New to the world of online publishing, he hopes to enhance the art of bonsai and leave behind some of his acquired knowledge for others to benefit.
