Brian Lopes has been a prevailing force on the professional mountain biking scene for more than two decades and is recognized as one of the winningest American professional mountain bike racers in the World. He has earned twenty-six World Cup wins, nine National Off-Road Bicycle Association (NORBA) Championships, six World Cup Championships, and four World Championships. Lopes started riding BMX at age 4 and graduated to pro status at 17. Since then, he has dominated BMX, MTB downhill, MTB dual slalom, dual, and most recently 4cross racing. He has held world records in bunny hopping and distance jumping. Lopes has appeared on the Outdoor Life Network, CBS Sports, EuroSport, has graced the covers of every major mountain biking magazine, including Bike, Dirt, Bicycling, VeloNews, and Mountain Biking, and has received coverage in such mainstream media as Men’s Health, Rolling Stone, and USA Today. Featured in numerous riding videos, Lopes has produced various signature products: including bike tires, kneepads, and signature bikes. He also stars in the mountain bike video game Downhill Domination for Sony/PlayStation. Other career highlights include his induction into the Mountain Bike & BMX Hall of fame, as well as his nomination for an ESPYAward as Extreme Athlete of the Year. He has served as a stunt rider for the USA Network show Pacific Blue and has appeared in various TV commercials. In 2013, Brian took on the title of “fitness trainer”, working with Honda/RedBull/Troy Lee’s motocross team athlete Jessy Nelson, Cole Seely and Shane McElrath. In the off-season Brian enjoys riding his dirt bike. He also trains on his road bike, frequents the gym and gets some water time on his surf board. Anything that poses a challenge, he is willing to try.
