I was born in the deep freeze of the Upper Midwest and moved to New Orleans as soon as I was old enough to cross state lines. I married a man who was job-transferred to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and from there we both chucked it all and moved to 121 acres in the country where we raised cows, pigs and many acres of hay (along with a very special baby girl who later grew up and learned editing in college). After decades of twists and turns, I found myself a retired bank officer teaching business development in the former Soviet Union as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I learned more than I taught, and most importantly, I learned life is much easier when you travel light. I retired to a small town in the beautiful Pacific Northwest where I began painting abstract acrylics and now split my time between the co-operative art gallery where I sell my work, and my lifetime passion for creative writing. I've found that the most important thing is that I enjoy what I do and treasure what I’ve done. I believe the key to happiness is to simplify your life from the inside out so that you’re always ready for the next adventure.
