Bruce Fink is a practicing Lacanian psychoanalyst and analytic supervisor in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He trained as a psychoanalyst in France for seven years with and is now a member of the psychoanalytic institute Lacan created shortly before his death, the École de la Cause Freudienne in Paris, and is also on the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Center. He is the author of seven books on Lacan, a translator of Lacan's work into English (including Écrits: The First Complete Edition in English; Seminar XX: Encore; Seminar VIII: Transference; On the Names-of-the-Father; and The Triumph of Religion; Seminar VI: Desire and Its Interpretation), and has written a series of novels whose main character is loosely based on Lacan: The Psychoanalytic Adventures of Inspector Canal (London: Karnac, 2010); Death by Analysis (London: Karnac, 2013); The Purloined Love (London: Karnac, 2014); and Odor di Murderer: Scent of a Killer (London: Karnac, 2014). He recently published a Clinical Introduction to Freud: Techniques for Everyday Practice.
