Children's author Carin Thamke is a self-proclaimed country girl who loves to enjoy life at its fullest and loves to follow her dreams. One of those dreams was to write her first novel, Sir Prize the Storm Pony: Braving the Storms of Life. This was the first installment in an amazing collection of books based on true events of real courageous animals (non-fiction) but written from their point of view (fiction). Carin thinks a great book is one that has an emotional connection with the reader. She desires for young readers to feel empathy and understanding towards animals that stays with them long after the book is closed. Her love of agriculture and animals started when she was a young, farmer's daughter. She was heavily involved with 4-H and FFA showing animals at the local fairs. That love grew into a career, achieving a General Agriculture degree with an emphasis in Agricultural Journalism and now works at an agriculture company. When she isn’t writing inspiring stories for children or at her day-to-day job, Carin loves to embrace family time with her children, ride motorcycles, paint, and work on her retirement home with her husband. She lives in Saint Peters, Missouri, with her husband and daughter, and their dog Bear, while her two step-children are enjoying their adult adventures.
