Born in Chicago, IL but grew up in Danville, VA. Carl Attended The Richmond Professional Institute of The College of William&Mary, now VCU. Carl began writing at the urging of best college bud, Tom Robbins, author of Even Cowgirls Get the Blues and a number of other bestsellers. After a career in professional theatre and music (virtually all popular genres, The author moved to Soouth Carolina where he penned his first novel, Nothin Left to Lose. Set in the Nashville and New York music scene, the book was optioned for fil twice by Tim Moore, ex. producer of Gran Torino, Invictus, MIllion Dollar Baby and others. Intrigued by the scenic beauty of the lowcountry, he wrote his second novel, the best-selling Lowcountry Boil (the first Sam Larkin novel), which received several prizes and, again four film options. Through the first boook, Larkin became an iconic character, which encouraged to author two more Larkin books, Louisiana Burn and Carolina Fire, just released as an ebook by River Oaks publishing.
