关于作者

I have always loved both animals and saints. As a child, my earliest memory was the thrill of meeting a little black dog. Today, terriers rule my life. One of my childhood favorite pictures book contained stories, from the bible, of Daniel in the lion's den and Elijah being fed by ravens. I was also fascinated by tales of Christians, thrown to the lions in ancient Rome. I used to dress Barbie and Ken up in togas to recreate those scenes, using stuffed toy lions. As an adult, I came upon the stories of St. Prisca-- who makes friends with an arena full of hungry lions; and St. Roch-- who's little dog saved his life; and St. Pachome-- who went for a wild ride on the back of a crocodile. After doing years of research, I knew I had to write a book about the amazing legends of animals who helped saints. My background is in art. I hope my readers will enjoy the scribbly style of my illustrations, and that it will encourage younger readers to turn their own scribbles into art.
