Carolyn Campbell's debut book, "City of Immortals: Père-Lachaise Cemetery, Paris," was named #2 on the Los Angeles Times Bestseller List for Paperback, Nonfiction and #1 for Amazon Hot New Release. The first-person account of this revolutionary garden-style cemetery features more famous residents than any other burial ground in the world from Oscar Wilde to Edith Piaf to Jim Morrison of the Doors. The 200pp book contains over 100 original color photographs, along with a comprehensive illustrated map featuring the grave sites of eighty-four cultural icons in this legendary necropolis that draws millions of tourists to the City of Light each year. Campbell is a lecturer, published writer and exhibited photographer. She has written about the arts and culture in her roles as an executive in major cultural institutions on the east and west coasts. Appointed as the first Director of Public Relations and Special Events at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, she subsequently held positions at the American Film Institute and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of the Arts and Architecture. She has contributed essays and images to several books, has been sought out as a lecturer about cemetery design, and a workshop leader on the subject of communications and marketing in the arts. Her photography has been included in exhibitions in London, Puerto Rico, Santiago, Chile, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami.
