Carolyn is a woman of many talents and interests. She has dedicated her life to learning, exploring, and creating, and her journey has taken her around the world. Born in Canada, Carolyn knew from a young age that she had a passion for literature and the arts. She pursued this passion by earning graduate degrees and certifications in Education, Fine Arts, and Library Science from the University of British Columbia and Western Michigan University. She also developed a love for travel, which led her to live and work in several different countries, including Australia, Canada, England, and the United States of America. Throughout her travels, Carolyn never lost sight of her love for literature and writing. She pursued this passion by becoming a certified Library/Media Specialist, and by writing several books of her own. Her writing is inspired by her experiences and travels, and her first book to be published is BE BRAVE: ABCs of Inspiration for Cancer Patients from Winnie the Pooh & Friends. Carolyn is a devoted mother to her two adult children, who have been her constant companions throughout her adventures. She has instilled in them a love of learning, creativity, and adventure, and she is proud of the people they have become. In addition to her writing and parenting, Carolyn is also an accomplished artist. She has a keen eye for detail and a talent for capturing the essence of her subjects in her drawings. She works mostly in graphite. Carolyn is a dog lover, and she has owned and cared for several dogs throughout her life. She believes that dogs are some of the most loyal and loving creatures on earth, and she is always happiest when she is surrounded by her furry friends. Despite her many accomplishments, Carolyn has also faced her share of challenges. In 2021, she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and she faced the disease with courage and determination. She underwent treatment, both chemo and radiation and made a full recovery. She continues to inspire others with her strength and resilience. Throughout her life, Carolyn has been an adventurer and a risk-taker. In 1968, she hitchhiked through Europe with a girlfriend, and she has never lost her spirit of adventure. She has taught in schools around the world, including Kelowna, BC, Canada; Sydney, NSW, Australia; Holland MI, USA; Fishers, IN, USA; and Las Vegas, NV, USA. She has made numerous presentations throughout the USA and has made friends in every corner of the globe. She now lives in Norman, Oklahoma in a little house that backs onto 75 acres of wild birds and animals. Carolyn’s life is a testament to the power of creativity, learning, and perseverance. She has inspired countless people with her writing, her art, and her courage, and she will continue to do so for many years to come.
